Tips For When Starting A Blog!

Hey Everyone! Welcome Back!
So Around this time last year was when I first started my blog. I really wanted to be able to share my opinions, get know people all over the world and that is what I have done. I really and truly enjoy writing on my blog and chatting with you guys!
I also know that there a lot of people out there who are just starting their blogs or want to start and probably need a few pointers on how to make their blog the best it can be.
So today I am going to share my tips and tricks for starting a blog!

Find Your Niche.
This is the most important thing you need to do at the beginning. What do you want to write about? What are your passions?
There are soooo many things you can write about!
A few examples would be:
-Fashion
-Cooking
-Beauty
-Business
-Lifestyle
-Exercise and workouts
-Gaming
-Crafts
-Electronics
-Books
And More.
There really wouldn't be a blog if you don't have anything to write about.
Also quick tip. Choose a couple things to write about but not to many. You don't want your readers to be confused about what your blog is about. My blog personally if I had to classify it, I would be a Lifestyle blog because it has to do with fashion, beauty, design, and just my life in general. Those are the types of things I am passionate about.

Find A Blogging Platform.
Next thing is what platform you will blog from. For my blog I use blogger. I have tried a few others but this one is the easiest thing for me at the moment. In the future maybe i will move my blog but for now I have a platform that is working for me.
A few platforms I know of are:
-Blogger
-Wordpress
-Weebly
-Tumblr
-Medium
-Ghost
There are hundreds more but these are a few that I have either tried or heard good things about. For those of you who don't know, a blogging platform is where you write your blog posts, edit your html and templates and more.

Find your Target Audience.
Who are you writing your blog for? What age group? When you are writing your posts you want to know who you are writing it for so that it is relevant to their age group. If you are reviewing 60 dollar makeup products and your targeting your blog for tweens... do you really think they will be able to afford any of the items you are mentioning and want to read your blog some more? No. If you were targeting towards tweens i would review more affordable things like drug store products.
Some examples of target audiences would be:
-Tweens
-Teens
-Young adults
-Adults
-50+
My tip is write what your age group would want to read. I write for the approximate ages of 14-30 and I write about not only self development and makeup for younger audiences but also room decor and fashion for the more mature.

Networking and Social Media.
You have no idea how important social media and talking to people in this industry is. Do you really think that just writing and putting your blog posts out there and waiting for readers to come is the way to go? It definitely is not. People will not know about your blog unless you put yourself out there and advertise. Now i am not saying to go to other peoples blogs and say "Check out my blog!" In fact I find that to be the most rude and annoying thing you can do. I am saying make an Instagram page or Twitter page and put updates about your blog and whats going on because thats really what is going to attract people to come. If they see that you are consistent and passionate about what you do, that is a selling point for many.
A few REALLY good social medias out there are:
-Bloglovin
-Instagram
-Pintrest
-Twitter
-Tumblr
and there are hundreds more.

Extra Tips.
-Quality over quantity.
You might see a bunch of really popular blogs put out posts several times a day or a couple times a week but odds are they have a whole crew working on their blog and they are the ones putting out dozens of posts a week . It is absolutely fine to post once or twice a week but you also must remember to be consistent. If you don't post for 3 weeks that will not look very good to your audience. Make sure to double check your posts before putting them up and make sure they are the best they can be.
-Be interesting and original.
People are not going to want to read something that they have already read on someone else's blog the week before. Try to put out new and unique content that people would be excited to see!
-Invest
If you are truly serious about your blog you will most likely need to invest in a few things such as a good camera, tripod, a blog domain, templates, and more. By investing you are improving the content of your blog and are making it more worth while for people to read it.
-Be confident
This is the most important thing out of everything I have said today. You must be confident in the content your providing. You want to actually like what you are writing because if YOU don't like it why would you want other people to read it.

I am not at all saying I am a Fantastic popular blogger or have done this for ages but these are just a few tips I have learned over the year. To be honest I have definitely done some of the things i have told you not to do here but you know... everyone improves over time.

Thank you all for reading!
If you liked it give it a like on Bloglovin!
Have an Amazing day!
